Stay at Home Date Night

Updated: Jun 14, 2020

Valentine's Day is right around the corner, and we are sharing our top stay at home date night ideas so you don't have to leave your house to have a good time!

Here's some ideas to get you started.

ASK ME ANYTHING

Make a list of questions to ask each other. It can range anywhere from If you could take a vacation anywhere in the world, with money being no object, where would you go and why? to What is something that you did with your family when you were a kid that you wish that we did with our family?  A great conversation starter is to talk about priorities as a family and maybe even creating new traditions.

Having trouble thinking of questions check out these sites to help you get your juices flowing:

COUNTRY THEME NIGHT

Pick a country you’ve been wanting to travel to and cook dinner together inspired by that country. This could be a really fun way to try out a new recipe or even a fave takeout spot! You can even add a bit more flare by decorating or dressing in accordance with your theme!

Ideas to try:

Italy: Make homemade pasta or pizza together. This can be super easy with store bought dough or make it homemade.

France: Dine on a cheese platter and wine.

Japan: Learn to make sushi together. Pair with sake if desired.

Greece: Feast on a dinner of Mediterranean appetizers like Greek salad, olives, feta, hummus, artichoke dip.

Mexico: Set up a make-your-own taco, nachos, or burrito bar. You can never go wrong with nachos!

PLAN YOUR {DREAM} TRIP

It’s no secret we love to travel. What better way to spend an evening in than to plan something to look forward to? We keep a running list of the places where we want to travel, so depending on the time of year, or how much time we can get away, we will start to plan our next dream trip. To add a little fun, put all of your destinations in a bowl, pick one out, and plan that trip! You can even turn this into a competition and see what type of trip each person can plan with a set budget. It’ll be interesting to see how differently each of you goes about it.

GAME NIGHT

Who doesn't love a game night? Here are some links to a few two player games that you and your significant other can play together to change it up and hopefully have a few laughs!

CREATE THE ULTIMATE BUCKET LIST

Work together to come up with your ultimate couples bucket list. List all the date spots you want to try, places you want to travel, experiences you want to have together, etc. You can even take it one step further and schedule one item from your to do list each month for the rest of the year! You’d be surprised how many great conversations this activity will bring up and what new things you might learn about your partner.
